Drinking Green

Today I want to mention something that has been helping me a lot. It is a green juice that is made with different fruits and vegetables.

I first saw this juice on Mauro Rebelo's blog and thought I would try it. My biggest challenge lately has been tiredness. In fact, more like exhaustion. While my doctor checks into it, I decided to try the juice to see if it would help.

It really has made a huge difference in my energy levels. It is way better than coffee in that sense (although I love coffee and can never give it up). I wake up around 5:30 AM so I have the juice first thing in the morning. Then I have my regular breakfast later.

The recipe I am using:
1 Cucumber
1 Carrot
1 Orange
1 Apple
Some Greens ( spinach, mustard greens, kale)
Handful of mint leaves (I have also used parsley)
2 Tab sprouted sun flower seeds (soak it for about 8 hours, drain and let it sit for another 6-8 hours)
2 Tab flax seeds - soaked for 8 hours

Put in blender and blend. Put the whole thing into cheesecloth and then squeeze the juice out. Drink.

Here is the link to the information on the blog. It is in Portuguese, but the video is worth a look.
